Too late to pray when you drown yourself in sin
Fast fading the evening in the mountains
Grey the sky to drift within the crags
Seeing storms in a world of doom
Flooding the river below
A lonely hilltop
The moon rising up
Floating along beside the sun
Dark the color a ghostly signature.
A cross stands deep within the gloom
The thunderbolt I hear within the bursting clouds
Vast the earth trembles night and day
The crackle of hail upon the hoof
Zebras rolling out the way.
There upon the plains
The Onyx standing proud
Beaten by the bruising sky
It’s halo gleaming on the ring
Gold a Monarch returning to earth
Fear no evil from the voice in the serpent
Searching for lost souls hiding in their temples.
Day and night God stares upon the world
Eyes dim in sin the devil questioning
Why the arc to float away
Noah and his family
Living in faith
Praying.
A dove flying
Spying down below
Green the tiny leaf a sign
Salute the advent of the Ark
Above the foam drying away.
Deep the golden ridges appear
Below the mighty jagged mountains
Rolling forth its doors open to paradise
Where Angels sing to welcome Noah home
His knowledge planted in the tree of life.
There in the garden the apple cursed
Buried deep with the devil in hell
His serpent a burning corpse
Shriveled into ashes
Skin to dust
Nothing
There.
