He sees me through it.

"Fear No Evil"

Whenever my eyes fall on this eternal carving
on the face of humanity since creation began,
I feel His presence just by my side, in my being.
I know His vigilant eyes shield me from evil.

Evil, sprouts like weeds in the garden of life,
like poison ivy it takes over the whole place,
accosts me at every juncture, in all corners, ready
to pounce, to tempt, and to take me to damnation.

I fear no evil as my faith in Him is immutable.
All the seven deadly sins fall away from me
like withered leaves of autumnal trees, like black
clouds cut asunder with the sword of rainy assault.

Money, fame, and material glamour, lust, anger,
and greed for more and more things to amass,
hide the face of evil trying to hoodwink me
into thinking good of bad, divine of the devil.

I prithee dear God, keep the armor of faith
intact, my only defense against the powers
of darkness, my only shelter against the rebels
of Heaven, the fearful forces of Lucifer’s making.
