Moonlight and You
Contest Entry for Coloring the World Prompt #127

You held my hand at sunset.
Wrote love notes in the sand.
We watched as breakers rolled
To kiss the shore’s dry land.

You held me in the moonlight
And vowed to always be
At my side forever.
You said that you loved me.

We walked the aisle together.
We became man and wife.
God had chose this union.
We partnered for our life.

Through the years we laughed.
We danced under the moon.
We sang our love song loudly.
It ended much too soon.

A fatal car crash left me
Bereft and all alone
Moonlight and you are memories
Of the love I have known.
