Redolence
You leave – yet still your scent remains and holds me in its perfumed chains. I struggle but there's no defense. My days are filled with your incense. I close my eyes and you are there. Your piquant essence fills the air as desire's flames grow more intense. My days are filled with your incense. Your fragrant skin, a sweet bouquet that lingers with me night and day, ensnares me with its redolence. My days are filled with your incense. You leave – yet still your scent remains. My days are filled with your incense. Notes Lesson 2 for "HSP ~ Excite When You Write" Focus: Sense of smell redolence ~ having a pleasant odor; fragrant. piquant ~ stimulating, interesting, or attractive Form: A Kyrielle Sonnet consists of 14 lines (three rhyming quatrain stanzas and a non-rhyming couplet). The Kyrielle Sonnet has a repeating line or phrase as a refrain. Each line consists of only eight syllables. French poetry forms have a tendency to link back to the beginning of the poem, so common practice is to use the first and last line of the first quatrain as the ending couplet. A good rhyming scheme for a Kyrielle Sonnet would be: AabB, ccbB, ddbB, AB Thank you for taking the time to read my words. Please, as long as you're here, leave a comment. Criticisms, thoughts, reactions, yes – even words of encouragement or praise – are all equally welcome Ken
