The spark of the amulet's radiance was captivating, suspended before him like a tiny sun.  It would shimmer for a second or two and then flitter away as he approached.  It seemed to be in perpetual motion, always onward, always upward.

Though Alba had first laid eyes on it only moments ago, he found himself quickly obsessed.  He pursued the tiny talisman first from one angle, and then the next.  He would try to take it and be just a fraction of a second too late.  Uninterrrupted, it would jerk itself away and continue its ascent.

Alba was not to be outdone.  He had noted that the object's path was singular and constant.  With a burst of speed, he launched himself above and behind it.  Faithfully, it came right to him and was his.

"I got something!"  A cry rose from the deck of the Ocean Adventure and the first mate scrambled over to help pull it aboard.

"Would ya look at that!  My very first fish!"  The guy who caught him was just a chubby office worker, soft and pink.  He marvelled as the seaman pulled the lure from his quarry.  "And the first one of the day."

There was deep pride in his voice.  Come Monday, he would again be a cog in a wheel.  But today...today he was a giant.
