Rural Fences in the Hills
"Hemmed in by the sturdy wooden posts/And dangling, metal wire...dry, truncated landscape"

This item requires reviews with ratings.
The wide, rolling expanse of hillside terrain
Stretches countless miles in all directions,
Where a remote, inconspicuous countryside fixture,
Rustic, weathered, lowly fences,
Divide the monotonous, sunny,
And windswept geography.
The landscape features an occasional,
Partially spotted cow or sleek, modestly built horse
Hemmed in by the sturdy wooden posts
And dangling, metal wire.
Both sides of the dry, truncated landscape
Host the buildings, solitary creatures,
And delineated property boundaries
Of the sparse and isolated countryside,
Traversed by temporarily closed gates,
Conspicuous, gravelly dirt roads,
And a paved, two-lane highway
Which permits traffic through the desolate
And permanently dissected region -
Where these rural fences make their
Unobstructed, dutiful home...
