Winter Storm
Rated: ASR | Poetry | Nature | #1656226
A dark poem on nature and betrayal in ballad meter.
The winter turns my heart to ice,
Congeals my very soul.
To what new place must I now run
To thwart this deadly cold?

My feet trudge on through snow and sleet
While frost bites off my toes.
I struggle through the blizzard harsh,
While thinking of my woes.

Why did you leave me, love of mine
To die here all alone?
Why did you sacrifice my life
To save your very own?

So as I lie here in the snow,
Enjoying my last breath,
I curse you and this winter storm
and pray you meet your death.
