INSPIRATION: a sonnet
A poet never lacks inspiration. The feelings are the inspiration.

INSPIRATION: a sonnet

Do I need inspiration for writing
A haiku or a ghazal or sonnet?
No, not when themes galore are inviting,
Making me blow my poetic trumpet.

A poem is a feeling of the heart
And my heart is never without feeling.
Expressing feelings in words is an art.
In fact, such art gives a touch of healing.

All I need is a pencil or a pen
And paper and a few minutes of time.
Sure enough, the thoughts of the heart ripen
And flow out in perfect rhythm and rhyme.

It may not match a Milton or Wordsworth,
But for me the effort itself is worth.
