A Train Ride

my ticket in a
bag, powder blue-
one way.

Herds of chairs, no
bodies to share
my ride

unroll some supplies
sweat unfolds
it’s burning

my belt tightens
beyond notches
on my bicep

the conductor
punches for veins
above releases

on my train
I’m home headed
for higher elevation

I overshot; missed
the last stop of
my breath.
