Title:  Malory

It is a rather small snake.  At this moment the little fellow is resting quietly between my left side and the crook of my arm, its head nuzzled in my armpit.  I could think of a few other places that could be worse, but then, I have this morbid streak.  I don't know the type of snake but I am forced to assume that it's deadly.
I am not sure what caused me to wake. It could have been the snake's movement against my skin or possibly some nearby noise in the room.  Dim light filters in from the window and my eyes are accustom to the dark of the room.  I'm not sure how long I have lain here, an hour at the most I think. I can't see the clock without turning my head and I dare not move.
In the last hour I have considered who is responsible.
         Malory.
I sense, more than hear a movement in the room.  The sound almost makes me twitch but I am still in control of my sweat soaked body.
“Oh hell Mark, go ahead and move, I have other things to do tonight.”
         And Malory kicks the bed.
