There’s a strangeness to this padded cell
Seeing myself mirrored from the ceiling Lying down on the edge of insanity Wondering why I’m so confused Being the sight of my reflection Seeing a doctor disturbing me His needle piercing deep Why am I here And who knows Where one will die Hidden in these walls Once bold enough to fly With a bright mind to see My dream of being a superstar Rising high with wings of fire No fear to hide in a tomb Dark in death hidden Floating mindlessly The psychiatrist With his guide dog Leading me to a cell Strapped tightly in bed Masquerading invincible The pen scribbling furiously Hypnotizing the lies With spying eyes Lying in a shadow Anesthetized Mindfully dreaming How can this be true In this message for me Seen in a puddle on the floor - I’m the man born to save myself.
