A Pocket Full of Shine
When life deals pain and sorrow, sing with God's Creation

A Pocket full of Sunshine

If I could send a pocket full of sunshine for you dear
I would wrap it in a rainbow, as I dried up your little tear.
I would send a little songbird to fill your heart with cheer
And you would feel the love of God and know He is always near.

Sometimes we have to feel some pain or long for change to come
As we listen for the angels who will bring the morning sun.
Just picture a beautiful garden with many roses in full bloom
With a little fountain sprinkeling magic just outside your room.

Then come two pesty little squirrels running in and out each row
Trampeling all the pretty daiseys, just why I do not know.
There's a big yard full of trees to scamper up and down
But instead they choose my garden, it just makes me want to frown!

Three bird feeders waiting, and the bird bath is filled from rain
Why, oh why must they dig in flowers running back and forth again?
I know now there is a lesson somewhere, is it patience that I need
Nothing is ever perfect, we must have faith just like a mustard seed.

All things surely have a purpose, all time is perfect with the Lord
To wait for our heart's desires, never find that you are bored.
Sing a song for Jesus, sing it out so loud and clear
As you feel His Holy Spirit wash away your  little tear.

This poem is dedicated and written for my dear sister,  Pat,  in Michigan who is recovering from a stroke.  Always one who cheered others, now she needs cheering up, so what better place to refresh your smile than a beautiful flower garden?
We planned to visit Pat this summer, she said "I can't wait!"  She really
meant it literally, and went home to be with Jesus a few days later.  Can't wait to
see her again one day!
