A walk in the city leads to a different world
James looked out of the office window at the bustling city down below. The sun reflected off the mirrored windows of the high rise opposite. Looking over at the clock he grabbed his jacket and headed for the elevator and the bustling city street below. Looking over to the reception desk he acknowledged the man sat there. ‘Enjoy the sunshine on your way home James.’ The man said.
‘I will.’ James replied as he swiped his access card and exited on to the street. Turning into the crowd he disappeared into the sea of movement.
Moving through the crowd James felt the air turn chilly for a moment before warming up again. Looking around he thought something wasn’t right. ‘This is not 4th and Freeman.’ He said to himself. ‘I must have taken a wrong turn while fighting my way through the crowd.’ Stopping he stepped back out of the sea of people that was still thick. Taking a moment James tried to get his bearings, but he did not recognise anything. None of the buildings were familiar to him; even the look of the road and pavement seemed strange.
