Growing Up: 2010 Earth Day Poem
Humanity becoming an adult
Rated:
E
by
Avg Rating: (6)
Children do not understand consequences,
Do not comprehend their actions cause effects,
These are lesson learned through experimentation.

Humanity has passed through the stage of childhood
And is leaving its rebellious teenage years;
Now it must accept responsibility,
As it enters into its young adulthood:
It is time to become a good citizen
Of Earth, foster planetary resources.

Line Count: 9

Form: The Hendecasyllabic – consists of eleven syllable lines and can be as long as the poet desires.
