DO WE LOVE MOTHER EARTH... ENOUGH? Dreaming of a peaceful world, where all things are clean Only one world we have, let’s keep it fresh and green Wake up today, with the sun shining brightly Everything’s the same, nothing changes for me Looking out the window, I watch the cars passing by Over and over, the black smoke makes me want to cry Vehicles releasing gas, deadly to every person and thing around Enough! I want to have the courage to stand my ground Maybe, I can tell them, shout it to their ears Openly express all my doubts and lingering fears They can’t hear our Mother’s cry, ignore her cascading tears Hell, not heaven on Earth; when will we realize and face Every mistake we’ve made, all the errors in our ways Right from wrong, no one can distinguish nowadays Everything’s the same, for me, nothing ever changes Air and water polluted, ozone depleting—as our planet ages Relieve me of the painful, ‘nature-is-slowly-dying’ images The people have gone too far—they’ll never learn, it’s sad but true However, a voice inside me still believes there’s something we can do --Acrostic Form-- ...19 lines...
