... Shrouded Joy I glimpsed joy, come close to me, Teased with truth, might set me free. So quick the glimpse was to come, It vanished faster, swiftly done. Joy turned to darkness, sad, and seen; My truth scorns dark levity. Darkness churns the inside rampant, On wounded knee, I plead joy's valiance. Joy escape's that captor's conceit; Stolen from brilliant, white hot belief. Spent rapidly gray, to a pale dullness; Melancholy madness, gripping lone-oneness. Joy's light fain, cover shrouds yet, My chains bind darkness unkempt. I turned away, joy's touch closely met, Stealing healing, unfolding regret. Again, joy rounds the bend, repeatedly hushed, Forewarning long seen, never once touched.
