My Soul, My Time
The Cornish Sonnet

                             Oh!  My soul, will it ever let you go?
                             Whispery winds wind through thoughts of the past
                             Blowing in the sounds, I already know.
                             A chorus of howls unwinds an old clock,
                             Ticking away the time that did not last
                             With a tick and a tock that I can't block.

                             It seems time can't unwind what's on my mind;
                             In its spin of whispery wind, there's you
                             Holding this man and his soul intertwined.
                             In the tangle, I find a sense of peace;
                             Although you are gone, my love is like new
                             It is a part of time I don't want to cease.

                             Oh!  My soul, will it ever let you go?
                             It seems I can't unwind what's on my mind.
