Volcano
Spewing rocks Molten, flowing, glowing Through peaceful Forested slopes Sweeping burned trees, dead bunnies, Bones of birds and beasts alike. Ash blankets the skies, A reminder of destruction In distant glades, Halting air traffic and Stranding travelers where they land, Homeless and broke. Housing four of the stranded Two young, two old, I watch the volcano Spewing toys and clothes Over stressed out elders. Sweeping peaceful relations away. The slopes are cooling The skies have cleared Stranded travelers have gone home. All that’s left is blackened ground Peaceful but lonely.
