Satan's Task

Satan approaches the newest addition to Hell. The fear and foreboding he feels is reflected in the eyes of The Man before him. He wishes God would release him from his task as he joins his mind to The Man’s.

Satan is pinned to the ground gasping; his body is that of a young woman. She's been bashed. Blood flows from her nose as The Man, new to adulthood, fucks her hard without consent. Satan knows three days later the girl will kill herself, unable to live with her shame.

Satan hides under a bed, while The Man searches the house for him. The Man has aged, while Satan is no older than eight. Urine trails down his leg, images of his parents being hacked to death just moments ago start appearing in his mind. The Man finds him and Satan screams as he’s grabbed by the hair and pulled from his hiding place. He’s raped and tortured, this time as a boy. The death that comes soon after brings him relief.

Satan returns to his present, vengeance fueling his decision on The Man’s eternal fate.

Satan wishes for release again as he looks beyond, at millions more awaiting judgment.
