Species Profiles- (Incomplete)

This is a compilation of the different species that inhabit my writings. As I'm still writing most of this down straight from my imagination, a lot of things are incomplete, and a few species are still missing. I hope you are interested in what I detail, serious criticism only please.

Species Profile- Basiliskians (Nagas)

-Evolved from a race of snakes billions of years ago on the planet known as, Basilisk.

-There are 3 dominant breeds.

         1) Adders- Peasant folk, only 2 evolution stages, 1-2.

         2) Mambas- Traders and Elite, 4 evolution stages, also comprises the bulk of the military force.

         3) Cobras- Ruling caste, all evolution stages. Comprise Basilisk's Monarchical Government, with Mambas serving lower positions.

-There are 2 rare breeds

         1) Chimeras- The "bridge" species, they comprise the evolutionary gap that separates snakes from Nagas. They are always in their Naga form, only able to achieve 2 evolutions.

         2) Echidnas- Known as "Mother Snakes", Echidnas came after Chimeras, and are effectively immortal. Whether this is science based, or mystical, has yet to be determined. They can achieve all evolutions. They are all female, and give birth to the Aristocracy. Echidnas are in turn known as Queens.

-Basilisks have a total of 5 evolution stages, reached at certain points in their life span. Male and Female differ upon whence they reach levels, with Females generally reaching them faster, while Males have more strength at their respective levels. Not all Basilisks may reach higher evolutions, as evidenced by Jalen.

-The evolutions are as such

         1) During youth, still growing to adulthood. Has ability to change form, from that of a Snake, to a Naga, to a Human. Physically stronger and with a higher endurance level than humans, but not excessively so. Healing and speed are heightened.

         2) Young Adult, finished with growth. Retains ability to change form. Excessively stronger than humans. Healing and speed are heightened to phenomenal levels.Can release pent up energy in a large spherical blast, the range differs individually, as well as strength of blast.

         3) Mid Adult, same abilities as evolution 2, but comparably stronger.

         4) Prime Adult, Considerably stronger. Considered to have mastered all aspects of their bodies, controlling their energy release, to quick body changes, considered perfect for warfare, as well as trade and aristocracy, their mind and body honed to a fine edge.

         5) Kings/Queens/Echidnas, the final evolution. Very few reach this stage, those that do are usually members of the royal family, or children of Echidnas. Exceedingly strong, unmatched by other members of their species. They are locked in their Human form if they accept their Armor. Armor is a constantly shifting metallic covering that they may call up at any time, mainly for defense in battle, as well as ceremony. This armor is highly resistant to all but the fiercest blows, with mounted long blades, usually curved, mounted on the forearms, which may be hinged to allow them to rest in a backward position, or can even be retracted. Each has their own unique armor, which also consists with a "soul stone", set in the back, below the neck line, corresponding in color with their armor and the color of their soul. At this evolution, they cannot die unless willing to, or killed by another of the same evolution. If female, they are given the choice of being an Echidna and bearing children, or gaining Armor and being locked in a Human form.

-Brief species information

         Basilisks evolved on Basilisk, located some distance away from the Sol System. They evolved from a form of snakes, eventually controlling their entire planet under small Monarchies controlled by a central King/Queen. With this government, they achieved many scientific and mystical phenomena, eventually reaching space travel. However, because of an encounter with another space faring species, the Astari, they destroyed them selves in warfare to ensure the destruction of the Astari. Only one survived.

         Basilisks may breed with most humanoid species, and due to unique properties that have yet to be fully understood, any child of a female basilisk and male humanoid, will be 100% Basilisk. In snake form, they become a snake of comparable size and mass to their humanoid bodies, (ie- the length of the snake will be comparable to that of the actual snake being scaled up to a human size) and this also applies to their Naga form, during which from the groin upward, they appear humanoid, but below the groin, they appear to have the body of a snake. Species Profile- Sharks

-They were created as part of a government program to create superior Aquatic Soldiers.

-Five "successes"

         1) White Shark- Male, can create shark skin shuriken. Is considered an overall rounded fighter. High intelligence, considered the de facto leader of the group.

         2) Tiger Shark- Female, expert at stalking and surprise attacks. Quickly tires, energy is spent upon first or second attack.

         3) Blue Shark- Male, high speed, high intelligence, expert at "picking" enemies to pieces. Long endurance, but not exceedingly strong.

         4) Bull Shark- Male, low speed, high intelligence, "ground and pound" submission attacks. High endurance and strength, high resilience.

         5) Unknown- Killed by the research team after an "accident".

-A group of specially enhanced Special Forces soldiers, used as guards and deterrents, were ruthlessly torn apart during the original fours escape. Their escape led them to Dis, and to Cody.

-Brief Information

         Sharks can alter their form, from a full shark form, capable of everything a normal shark is capable of. They can also change to a half form, closest comparison is a mer person. Their final form is that of a human. They work as a team in all endeavors, working to eliminate their individual weaknesses, and to overpower their opponents. If displaced from a source of water for an extended period of time, certain side effects become apparent, such as irritability, headaches, dizziness, lost of motor functions, and eventual death by dehydration.

Species Profile- Human

-Evolved on Earth, eventually taking to the stars, populating a great many planets and solar systems, and are currently the most diverse species, as well as the last known space faring species.

-Humans on Earth

         The species came to prominence on Earth, creating civilizations bloomed and died, the species itself lasting many millennium. Eventually, they discovered the slipstream drives left behind by Astari and Basilisk ships, modifying them to fit their own ends. When reverse engineered, the mass production of SSD's (Slipstream Drives), spearheaded by Chinese labor, US technology, and Russian ship design, interstellar system travel was achieved. Eventually, due in part to the Clone & Human War, most of Earth was left desolate and dying, the City of Dis was created, in order to house the remnants of humanity from the harsh elements, while those space faring colonies looked for a way to save Earth. Eventually though, the coordinates to Earth were lost, and with it, Earth became a distant dream to many. The City did its job well, and humanity was spared. However, certain creatures of myth and legend became common as time went by, and eventually Dis was threatened by an army of Lycan's, only to be stopped by Sai's arrival. At an ultimate end, Earth was refound, and its peoples were evacuated, when Damien began Earth's rebirth. Now, it sits as a pristine world, untouched and new, overgrown with animal and plant life. Both Basilisk's and Astari's alike predicted the rise of humanity, yet held them in contempt. It is widely believed throughout Basilisk religion, as well as some human religions, that they are the last of the redeeming species, and that their true purpose has yet to have been revealed.

-Humans on the Ring

         Humans also exist and are the chief occupants on the Ring, though how they came there, and their ultimate purpose, is unknown. Different areas of the ring trade with one another. Due to the extreme size of the Ring, population centers are sparsely situated. It should be noted that going clockwise from the point of origin, (determined to be the technological beginning point of the Ring), technology gains in progress, starting from a simple hut and thatch village, to a Victorian era city, to eventual future metropolises. It is unknown why this occurs, or its significance.

-Clones/Cloned Humanity

         Simple and short, clones are copies of another organism, whose genes do not differ from the donated DNA. Clones can be artificially growth inhibited or accelerated, and are also able to be augmented with implants or other strains of DNA, (ex., The clone of Cody, Seshurai, who was artificially accelerated while growing, and later augmented with many mechanical prosthesis'). All creatures are vulnerable to cloning, with the cloners aim usually being to create perfected races, or bio-weapons (ex. Sharks). The only known Astari clones are Kay and El, though, it is unknown who they are cloned from, or why they were cloned in the first place.

         Mankind's largest war, was with Clones. The Government institution which originally created Seshurai, was eventually taken over by Seshurai, and believing clones, herself included, to be a master genetic race, with perfections of the DNA created by science and not by evolution, began a large scale take over of the human population by systemic slaughtering and cloning, hoping to replace Homo Sapiens with Homo Effingo. The war itself cost billions of lives, on both sides, while also nearly destroying the Earth. Millions of miles of land became parched deserts, while the ice caps were frozen, and sea levels dropped. In a final effort to save themselves, humanity created a large subterranean city, large enough for the 1 Billion+ humans left alive. The city could be lowered into the desert, and raised when needed. It was named, The City of Dis. During this time, scientists developed a virus which broke down clones genetic structure, by separating strands of copied or modified DNA. With the war over, but Earth left in ruins, the outer colonies, (Mars, and other galactic outposts), searched for habitable planets outside of the solar system, eventually losing the coordinates for Earth, with it's memory, and wars, but a brief legend.

         Basiliskians believed cloning to be an affront to their gods, as their view was that they were already the perfected organism, and that no scientific meddling could improve them. Thus, when they met the Astari, a race which used cloning to augment its military ranks, and to preserve its history, a schism developed in their relations, eventually leading to war. In this way, cloning has created the two most deadly wars in recored history, that between Basiliskians and the Astari, and that between Humanity and the Clones.

         Cloning has also been used to benefit though, as in the case of the AI drivers, for Humanities large Battle Cruisers. These clones are part android to allow them to interact with the ships mainframe, and to navigate and control the ship during times of stress and battle.

Gods/DemiGods/Religion/Dimensions

-Religion in this is multifaceted, with multiple Gods/DemiGods, and planes of existence.

-Gods

         There are twelve Central Gods, who rule through all the Universes. Each God is tied to a planet with sentient life, meaning the Astari, Basiliskians, and Humans, each have a God figure which ruled over their ambient space (solar system). When a planet dies, or their race is extinct, the God dies. The Gods cannot interfere with the wills of those they watch over, but can offer insight to many, provide moral codes, shape and meld the beginning of that life, and act upon a worldly scale (removal of entire sections of continent), but only so it does not confer or detract overall power from their sentient life. To that effect, if a sentient race is willing to destroy itself with nuclear weapons, the God cannot interfere, and if they do so, the God will die. The God can only influence the events by passing knowledge and creed to those it wishes. Currently only three of these Gods still exist, Earth's (Yahweh), Basilisk's (Quetzalcoatl), and Astari's (Anansi). The others have lost their people and life many millennium ago. To that effect, these Gods have taken a back seat, and keep their respective people free of "clutter" (accumulated lifeforms/technologies that represent a danger to the fabric of the Universe itself, each God may patrol their own people.

-DemiGods

         Due to the fact that Gods cannot meddle directly in the affairs of their people, DemiGods exist to fill that niche. Each God has twelve DemiGods under their command, and while not as powerful as the Gods, they have more than enough to fulfill their missions. DemiGods begin their service as simple animals, which are imbued with powers and rights, seen as needed to guide their respective races. These creatures gain sentience and intelligence on a level comparable to the God, and are imbued with excess strength, life, regenerative properties, and other aspects that singular to the Demi. DemiGods may rise or fall, based upon personal choices, and how they use or abuse their powers. Risen DemiGods become Angelic Lords, while fallen DemiGods become Demon Lords. Each can pass on a certain amount of power to chosen individuals, such as when Cody was imbued with the powers of both a Demon and Angelic Lord (Though this was mitigated when she became a Queen).

-Dimensions

         There are four Dimensions; Reality, where the majority of life resides, and is the focal point for the Universe; Red, where souls that are impure or evil go, and is ruled over by Demonic Lords such as Yahweh's fallen Demi, Lucifer; White, where souls that are pure or good go, and is presided over by Angelic Lords such as Yahweh's risen DemiGod, Michael; and the Ring, which is a slight parallel to Reality, where large amounts of magic were forced from Reality, into this pocked dimension, as it includes many creatures considered as fantasy, note; Astari and Basilisks are not present here, the majority race is humans, though pockets of Elves, and Satyrs exist, along with Dragons, Drakes, and Halflings (Half Human, half Dragon or Drake).
