taxes, we pay
my attemt at writing a ghazal,

Taxes, we pay, 'cause "they" say we owe it
If they claim it's a law, they should show it

Every last lie, politicians prescribe
They should reap since they opted to sow it

Don't ask yourself why, we fell for the lie
We vote them in charge, that's how we blow it

And they raise the fees, laws sprout up like weeds
That political lawn; we should mow it

When, people, oppressed, and freedom suppressed
Revolution is key, and you know it

If good, is the plant, from human to ant
I ask 'why in the world can't we grow it?'

Eat modified food, gene altered and crude
"Mr. Dredd" then away you should throw it
