Were Once

I was once,
But now am not.
Was weak,
But now,
I'm stronger.
I sleep alone,
But do not dream.
The night can't be much longer.

Tears may blind,
And hold you still,
Eyes shut,
Against the light ,
They crust,
When dry.
Just let them go,
To soothe another night.

You were once,
But now are not.
Were weak,
But now,
You're stronger.
Let those tears,
Turn dry as dust,
No love, therefore no trust.
