Impassioned words ring hollow
When my child's life demands Deeds I cannot fathom. Though I distrust this tuition, Your instructions slither beneath my ears. Though I disclaim this vision, Your promise burns my heart of ash. Though I disdain your death, The choice bedevils me. Fate demands a leap from ivory As honor bleeds from burning eyes. No girlish healer come to touch and cure, This preacher of Life now studies Murder. Equals now! -in power and shame; The day has come: we end this game.
