Lasting Friendship

My friend I have known you for many years.
You have consoled me in laughter and tears.
So soon our days on Earth will all be gone.
We have sung together God's loving song.

It is hard to say good bye to you old friend.
Our life here on Earth must come to an end.
We'll meet again when our race has been run.
To heaven God will take home His two sons.

Forever we will live in Holy splendor together.
There meet old friends we will be with forever.
Our loved ones in heaven will see us again.
When our purpose on Earth comes to an end.

Great things await us in heaven you will see.
See all those who have passed on to eternity.
If I go on to heaven and our relationship ends.
I will wait for you in heaven my dearest friend.
