A Beacon in the Night
Contest Entry for Prompt # 138 Coloring the World Contest

When the storm clouds of life surround you
And troubles are constantly found;
When you struggle with burdens and turmoil,
It seems darkness is ever around.

The tempest about you is blowing.
You search for a safe hiding place,
But you find that solace is elusive
Instead there’s only shame and disgrace.

Remember your Father in Heaven
Is simply as close as your prayers.
He will take all your problems and worries
And, He will shoulder all of your cares.

He is a strong anchor to cling to;
A beacon of light in the night,
A steadfast foundation you can embrace
When life’s troubles enter in your sight.

Earthly problems are temporary.
We all know that storms never last.
If you’ll lift up your eyes toward Heaven
You will see that the clouds have now passed.
