The Brain Drain

Last fall during Sweeps Week
I saw this new show
Where a game had contestants
Who sat in a row.
There were two other people
Who made up each team,
And their task was to think of
The craziest dream.

Next, the show had computers
With cables attached,
From their brains to the players
Up front they were matched.
The thinkers then tried to get
Players to feel
The thoughts they were thinking
As if they were real.

So say you imagined snakes
Grew from one’s head.
Like Medusa, but odder –
With rattlers instead.
Well the person who’s hooked up
To your twisted brain,
If you were successful,
Would start to feel strange.

But then that same person
If they’d enough will
Could stop what you’re thinking,
Reversing it ‘till
You were the one who would
Feel those snakes rattle
So as you can see it was
Quite the brain battle!

Clearly the player who
Lasted the longest
Was always the one who was
Mentally strongest.
But despite its excitement
From what I was told.
That show, for some reason,
Just never took hold.
