My Nightly Prayer

Prompt 139 for ColoringThe World Contest "Thank you, Father"......

Thank You, Father
For my home, a perfect place to live
And for my mom and my dad, too.
They’re the best You could ever give!

Thank You, Father
For my eyes, that I can daily see
The wonders You have made on earth
And witness Earth’s awesome beauty.

Thank You, Father
For my ears, You gave that I might hear
The bird’s song and the ocean’s roar;
All the sounds of a world so clear.

Thank You, Father
For my health, each and every day,
For I have seen children that were sick
And could not go outside to play.

Thank You, Father,
For my church, I go to worship there
To learn more about You, Precious Lord;
Your great Word with the world, I’ll share.

Thank You, Father,
For Your grace, that rescues all the lost,
And for Your Holy Son, Jesus
Christ, who died on Calvary’s cross.

Thank You, Father,
Most of all, for saving lambs like me.
I’ll live in Heaven with You, one day
With all my friends and family.

And, now, Dear God,
Bedtime has come; I must go to sleep.
I know You are right by my side
And my soul You will safely keep.

P. S. Father,
Just in case, I have left out a lot,
Please forgive all the sins I have done
And even those that I’ve forgot.

When, I awake
With morning’s light to start a new day
Help me to be more like You, God,
In the things that I do and say.
Amen.
