Waiting
Rated: E | Poetry | Experience | #1678948
Don't forget what is in front of you, while you are busy looking toward the future.
“Waiting”

Waiting for what happens next, losing sight of the present.

Arguing with our future about what we rightly deserve.

Intrigued only in what will be, forgetting what once was.

Time slips away unraveling our lives, while eyes see nothing.

Insight lost to bigger and better things that will never be.

Nothing holds our attention like the promise of the unknown.

Grasping for what we will never touch, we drop all we’ve been given.
