My five cats wake each dawn to surprise guests!..
They look for neighbor’s flock of guinea fowl
Hens waddle past,calling with noisy zest!.

Cats only dream of a guinea conquest--
all they’d do if they caught one is just growl!

They’ve only ever caught a mouse, at best!
The sight of fowl makes one timid cat howl--
Hens waddle past, calling with noisy zest!

The march is early; causes cats their rest!
They’d like to catch one, but just don’t know how!
My five cats wake at dawn from to surprise guests!.

They study them each day with fervent zest!
as they conspire to catch the guinea fowl;
hens waddle past calling with noisy zest!


Their day has started off wrong; they have guests!
They want a young fowl captured from its nest!.
