Wow, the best is beginning to hum –
Flipping open the cell with my thumb; Cradling the device with my fingers, While the ring tone set no longer lingers. Anticipating the friend who is calling, Thankful for their ring, not stalling; Making our eventual plans concrete, A movie theatre and a place to eat… Arriving at the scheduled time, Again, I hear the cell phone chime – Traffic’s a bummer, their greatest fear, But thumbs up to my friend, soon near. A trace of people, thumbs up, okay, While wishing to meet the other today – The lasting chime of the cell phone ring Still telling me why I carry this thing!
