Persian: Aabaad na shud dil keh kharaab e pisaraan shud Husn e pisaraan aafat e sahibnazaraan shud Urdu: Aabaad naheen dil jo kharaab e pisaraan hay Husn e pisaraan aafat e sahibnazaraan hay English:=== Whenever they see it, look how they bubble These lovers of beauty are always in trouble - Persian: Afsurda jamaal e khat e khoobaan cheh shanaasand Keen surma na shaaista e naaqisnazaraan shud Urdu: Afsurdadilaan qadr e khat e yaar na jaanaen Yeh surma na shaaista e naaqisnazaraan hay English:=== But all her beauty would've gone to waste If there were no lovers who had the taste - Persian: Dilha e azeezaan shumar aan jumla nageenha Kaander kamar aaraaish e zarreenkamaraan shud Urdu: Aashiq ka dil e raish hay maanind e nageen ik Jo dar kamar aaraaish e zarreenkararaan hay English:=== So the rubies with which herself she covers Are nothing but the bleeding hearts of her lovers - Persian: Aan khawja keh meeguft keh daaram khabar az aql Dar ishq dar aamad, yakey az baikhbaraab shud Urdu: Khawja hay jo ik baakhabar o aalim o aaqil Wo ishq maen ik taaj e sar e baikhabaaan hay English:=== Look how a man who thinks he's smart Behaves like a fool when he follows his heart - Persian: Juz hasrat o murdan na bawad chaara e ushshaaq Faryaad o fughaan arbada e heelagaraan shud Urdu: Juz marg naheen chaara e mehroomi e aashiq Faryaad o fughaan arbada e heelagaraan hay English:=== Oh, how he yearns, and cries, and cries And how many times for a beauty he dies - Persian: KHUSRO zay rukh e khoob o zay mai toba nameekard Naagaah badeed aan rukh e zaiba, nigaraan shud Urdu: Toba mai o maashooq say KHUSRO ko ho kaisay Rakhta usay deedaar e but ab bhee nagaraan hay English:=== And KHUSRO is also a lover of beauty And a beauty he loves as a matter of duty ====
