The Citadel Within
![]() I built a citadel in the sand and watched as waves washed it away. In a final farewell from this land, it crumbled as if from decay. The impression it made lingered on, how our efforts all seem in vain. Yet, I was not afraid. I was drawn by the triumphs I could attain. Success isn't measured by the things that we only build with our hands. Trying's to be treasured for it brings forth our strength to meet life's demands. Notes Round 3 entry in "TRADITIONAL POETRY CONTEST" Prompt: Image Form: Tri-fall The Tri-fall, created by Jan Turner, consists three 6-line stanzas, for a total of 18 lines. The rhyme scheme is a,b,c,a,b,c and meter for each stanza is as follows: 6/3/8, 6/3/8. This form requires little to no punctuation and can be written on any subject matter. Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise Ken
