(To all that read this....this story is true. Alot as been toned down and alot is not being put in because of how graphic this situation was. Names are changed. But, I hope this hits hard alot of people out there who may be undergoing this sort of thing and I hope it brings peace and healing this is my work in progress)

Grace's brown eyes stared at the wood floor a hard hand clamped her mouth and yanked her upward. She kicked, screamed and tried to fight -- but, gained nothing. Her husband's body was like stone, he caught ahold of her arms pinning them painfully tight and smacked her across the face in an attempt to silence her. His blow left her mouth bloody and silent. When he let loose she cowered anticipating the next blow. He brought a wash cloth to her lips and began to dab at the blood. She shook violently at his touch. When had had cleaned the wound he kissed her cheek and tossed the cloth aside. " Look at me Grace."

As she lifted her eyes to meet his her heart began to pound and her body shook with fear.He took his hand and cupped her chin looking at her with pleading eyes.
"It won't happen again Grace...I just don't know what came over me." He let his hand drop as he walked away snatching a bottle of vodka from the kitchen table.
He unscrewed the lid taking a drink and looked back her. "What are you staring at?"
She couldn't answer him as he strode over to her. "That's what I thought."

Grace tried to blot out the chaos around her. She could still hear him mumbeling has he gulped down the bottle and chugged it to the side glass shattering across the floor. She tried to picture anything but what was before her, but her mind was blank. The feeling growing in her gutt seemed to mock her. She picked herself off the floor has he stormed out the doorway heading to the garage. Has she looked around her crumbeling world around her she could hear the baby crying upstairs.

Quickly she made her way up the stairwell to the children's room picking up their youngest from her crib. "Shh..Hope.shhh musn't wake your brother sweetie everything is okay. Mommy's okay. Daddy's just upset it'll be alright." Grace whispered softly fighting back the tears has she held the baby to her chest. Has she peered into the babies face the gut wrenching feeling crept over again. Her eyes strode over to the toddler bed aside the wall where her son, Zachariah slept. "One day this will be them." Her mind mocked. Has she looked into her daughter's eyes and at her son again sleeping she shook her head closing her eyes. "Dear Lord, I don't know what I've ever done to deserve you even to hear this prayer so if you don't want to listen to me because I wasn't faithful in obediance over my life I understand. But, Lord surely you must have compassion for my son and this tiny one I hold in my hands. Lord, I beg of you a better life for them. Even if it means that their father takes my life. I have tried to tell people about the abuse physical amd emotional but no one believes me. They all think I am crazy. That he is so perfect. So, Lord if you could please let him take my life so they might see then maybe my kids would have a chance. In your name I pray amen." Grace opened her eyes a few tears escaping as she mussed Hope's tiny bit of hair and kissed the babies forehead. Grace smiled soft through her tears has she placed the sleeping baby back into her crib and gazed again at her son who was down for his nap. "I can't let that someday be you." She went and kissed his forehead softly before heading back down the stairs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
