An inside joke/tribute, coincidentally written around some Pope's beheaded martyr's "Day."
VALENCE TIME

Saint Valentine went and lost his head
By Juno and Christian Brothers was misled
Claudius the Gothic was the Law
Might makes right is how he saw
Interamna, now Terni, streets he'd Rome
But Chaucer was the gent who showed him Home
Birds of a Feather will flock Together
And weight-it-out through the Stormy Weather

The Magic write before their eyes
Is just the cloak of his disguise
He took Valentine and lopped off his head
And they still celebrate the Greatful Dead

Opportunity came knocking at the Door
She make your mind trip before she let you soar
Badly Scattered they gathered begging bowls
Tambourine stretched minstrel Rubber Souls
Magnetic resonance within the key of C
If you C what the dust can truely be
Just Blowin' in the Wind from everywhere
It make you want to scream and shout and stop and stare

Cause the Magic write before your eyes
Has taken us all by such surprise
Remember fireworks flash and soon are gone
Leave us in darkness just before the Dawn

Why should All These People care
Why should All These People dare
To interrupt your Dream: Deja vu
Could it be they've been here before too
A catalyst in organic chemistry
Is nothing less than what you think you see
And that cup of loaded dice within your hand
Is just the number of The Badly Scattered Band

Cause the Magic write before your eyes
Has taken us all by such surprise
Remember fireworks flash and soon are gone
Leave us in darkness just before the Dawn

The night that I stumbled through the Door
A sailor on the Sea of Time cast ashore
From my eye I felt a grain of the golden sand
Made me blink at Alice and the Toad from Wonderland
And I Wonder why it took us oh so long
To hear the Canticles of the Song of Songs
So I took my hat and threw it in the ring
Just to hear the Cant of the Music they'ed sing

The Magic write before their eyes
Is just the cloak of his disguise
He took Valentine and lopped off his head
And we still celebrate the Greatful Dead
