THE SIXTH SENSE
Promise of eternal love In a golden whisper Left me spellbound and speechless, My heart was aflutter. You touched me, your silken touch Worked up a fire in me. I could not control myself And clung to you deeply. You took me into your arms, To take breath I struggled Love abounded all around. All sensation was dulled. Then it happened, you kissed me. I looked up in the eye. Despite whisper, touch, embrace, I saw in eyes the lie. There was something in those eyes That did make me recoil. Movements of tongue continued. My heart was in turmoil. No the eyes just cannot lie, Though the words can be fake. It is the sixth sense that keeps The women wide awake. • Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format. M C Gupta 4 July 2010
