I Never Glance Away

I'm not too curious of these
surroundings but the people
crowded me here with their
flocked formations in and out
of each store's doorway in
a weird rudiment fashion like
a ritual lost on inexperienced
youth screaming in bodily
pain, or small girls tripping
in heels on a solid floor with
redone grout holding high
its pattern of symmetry
and then the unthinkable
happens near the food court:
a once not thin woman now
the thin woman looked at me
as she spoke
to her baby
connected to her right nipple
of her swollen breast. she made
a baby sound I wish she would
say to me under a material much
like her shirt that I don't see
around that mound of milk filled
skin. her look seemed to say
pervert but more revealing was
the way she assured I was in her
view whenever her young baby
with the pink little booties
feed on while I felt their bond
in my vision from a few feet away.
it seems absurd what claims me
in my eyes while I stand in one
spot for an inappropriate amount
of time during a weekday at two.
