ROBIN HOOD
Who has not heard of famous Robin Hood? The King of Outlaws is remembered still. For those who were poor he had always stood. For his men the law was what was his will. His name unfolds a number of legends; That of “Golden Arrow” is too well known. Passing through nooks and creeks and forest bends To win the golden arrow he had gone. For the Nottingham Sheriff he cared not. His writ ran through the whole Sherwood forest. To help the poor he robbed the richer lot; In robbing he was always at his best. He was truly the hero of his day, His name is quite well known even today. * Awarded third prize in the "Invalid Item" * Initially written as entry 470285, now deleted, in the book MISCELLANEA, "MISCELLANEA" M C Gupta 21 November 2006
