I Hung the Moon You have loved me from the beginning You have believed in me when I didn’t You have given me strength when I was weak You always made me feel I was the wind in the trees You carried me when I was sleeping You cheered me on at my graduations You held my child tenderly in your arms You always made me feel I created the stars in the sky You did these things unconditionally You did these things wanting no repayment You did these things even if I was wrong You always made me feel I painted the world I know someday you will be gone I know someday I won’t hear your voice I know someday I will have to face A world without you A world without my father A world without the only person That always made me feel I hung the moon
