Coloring the World Contest
Prompt #145

My Life

The Savior died for all, you see,
even a sinful wretch like me.

My life had been a worthless thing,
unworthy of notice by my King.

Yet, when He died upon Calvary’s tree
He knew His blood would set me free.

If I would trust Him and obey,
I’d live in Heaven some sweet day.

Although I’ve tried to do what’s right
I’ve sometimes failed to fight the fight

against this world that’s filled with sin.
I’ve trod in all the ways of men.

When I reflect on things I’ve done
I stand ashamed before the Son,

for failing to live as He said.
I chose to pursue sin instead.

If I want to trade in all this strife,
change must enter into my life.

I will admit my follies and my woes
believe and follow where He goes

confess Him as my Lord and Christ.
Say “No” and never be enticed

again by sin’s beck and call.
Let Jesus be my All in All!

Learn to love my fellow man.
Live in His will, as is His plan.

I must turn from my life of sin;
from this day, a renewal must begin

way down deep within my soul,
for only He can make me whole!

I will live for Him every day
and seek to walk the narrow way.

And, when I draw my final breath
I’ll not feel the sting of death

but live with Him in Heaven on high
in that bright mansion in the sky.

This poem speaks from my heart.
Don't let Satan tear your life apart.

Turn from sin; return to God!
Temptation masks Hell's facade.

Jesus loves you, yes, it's true.
He, your Savior, waits for you.
