A Series of Poems in Lanturne Form
The Lanturne is a five-line verse shaped like a Japanese lantern with a syllabic pattern of one, two, three, four, one. Nature's Call Blades rising from the earth’s carpet of green grass. Vines clinging young tendrils gently trailing down. Trees form a canopy hiding the sun’s rays. Cat’s soft paws do deceive hiding their sharp claws. Stars gaze down towards earth radiating light. Rain droplets fall softly watering the earth. Bird winging in the sky, as a feather, glides. Earth rotates as the sun brightly shines down light. Copyright © 2006 by Karen M. Crump
