Mama's Magic Fingers
Dedicated to Mama Watching my own granddaughter, Sitting at my mother's side, She watches mama's magic fingers, With sparkling eyes so wide. Seems like only yesterday, My daughter there smiling bright, Watching Mama's magic fingers Sewing stitches small and tight. A bit of cloth, a needle and thread, Laughing and talking through it all, Until Barbie has a fancy dress Fit for a princess at a ball! And finding a precious memory, I see myself with a pony-tail, Watching Mama's magic fingers With a faith that will never fail. At least a million loving stitches, And each stitch sewn with care, Stitching us all together, With precious memories to share. Blessing each generation, With a bond that ties and lingers, To warm our hearts though the years, My mother's loving magic fingers.
