                                Ghazal 167


Persian:  Dil e aashiq chira shaida nabaashad
              Ba ishq ander jahaan ruswa nabaashad
Urdu:      Adoo hergiz tera shaida naheen hay
              Keh wo maeri terheh ruswa naheen hay

English:=== Without her love there can't be a heart
                  Though falling in love is not very smart
                                      -

Persian:  Nagooie ta ba kay, aey shoukh e dilbar
              Tura purwa e haal e ma nabaashad
Urdu:      Tujhay aey naujawaan e shoukh e dilbar
              Zara faryaad ki purwa naheen hay

English:=== A lover of hers has nothing but despair
                  But she's very happy; she doesn't have a care           
                                        -

Persian:  Ba bustaan e lataafat sarv baashad
              Walay chu qadd e o raana nabaashad
Urdu:      Ba bustaan e lataafat sarv hay ik
              Walay taeri terheh raana naheen hay

English:=== For like a flower she is full of glee
                  And has all the grace of a cypress tree
                                          -

Persian:  Kidaameen deeda dar way neest hairaan
              Mager chashmay keh o beena nabaashad
Urdu:      Hay koie chashm hairaan hay naheen jo
              Siwa us kay keh jo beena naheen hay

English:=== She's also as elegant as anyone can be
                  And her beauty even the blind can see
                                          -

Persian:  Na dil baashad keh ghaafil baashad az yaar
              Na sar baashad keh pursauda nabaashad 
Urdu:      Hay dil koie keh ghaafil yaar say hay
              Hay sar koie jo pursauda naheen hay

English:=== There can be no heart without her love
                  And yearning for her no head is above
                                            -

Persian:  Ba nauay dil zay KHUSRO dar to bastam
              Keh baa ghair e to am purwa nabaashad
Urdu:      Bana banda hay KHUSRO aur us ko
              Kisi ki juz teray purwa naheen hay

English:  And since he has seen her, KHUSRO swears
              That for no one else in the world he cares
