IF I ONLY KNEW It's three in the morning then comes that warning that wakes me real fast thinking of the past. Those places that I've been - would hate to go again, The time spent at war, leaving a mind tore. Then years with a pill - yet a mind that's still ill cheating me of sleep, of a rest that is deep. It's three in the morning then comes that warning that wakes me real fast thinking of the past. Remembering my friends, better time I spend but so many are lost - lifes end is the cost. There once was a time long before my prime when I was a lad and always seemed glad because Mom and Dad would not see me sad. These thoughts allowed me to sleep ever sound not knowing a thing of what time would bring. Fade out Three in the morning then comes the warning I could have slept through - if I only knew. I could have slept through - if I only knew. 08/20/10 Monty
