My Heart
A brief foray into writing my first Ghazal. A Ghazal about love, pain, and my heart

My Heart

I was alone, way afield my heart
Been broken before, now healed, my heart

My life is full of all types of pain
Sometimes she has tried to wield my heart

I want to never feel pain again
It feels as if someone peeled my heart

For quite a while, I lived life alone
I found a way, and concealed my heart

Afraid to go out, find someone new
I was too timid to yield my heart

I wonder how love finds you by chance
Perhaps it was being wheeled, my heart

But today, I’m happy as can be
I now know love, it has sealed my heart

How is it that Sum1 knows such love
Because she has learned to shield, my heart
