Daylight is fading and the night is near.
Lookin' out the window, wishing you were here.
Your message playing on the telephone
says I will spend another night alone.
I can tell that there is something wrong –
in the background I can hear a song,
the sounds of laughter that you try to hide
before you hang up and I'm put aside.

Outside the wind is whisp'ring to the trees
about the rumors that it's heard,
about the heartbreak that it sees.
I hear every single word ...
and the wind is gossiping with the trees.
In my heart I know it's true.
Just like the words upon the breeze -
it's time for me to move on too.

I toss and turn, another sleepless night,
and I am torn between what's wrong and right.
My heart is breaking from your constant lies
but I just can't accept a compromise.
I pack my bags and head into the sun;
I've found the strength to finally say "It's done."
