The birth, rise and fall of ambition

Ambition

Beauty shines from deep within
Hidden from a pool of sin
Stored behind a gift unwrapped
And placed beside a road untapped

*
Beauty stands in quiet awe
Waiting for the chance to crawl
Creeping, silent through the skin
Hiding behind the eyes that grin

*
Beauty grows within the soul
Slowly rising towards a goal
Struggling for a place to rest
When things become a bundled mess

*
Beauty sits alone in thought
Waiting for the one who brought
A knowing smile and a wink
That threw it off its peaceful think

*
Beauty lies in desperate times
To hide away from lustful mimes
Hoping for a chance to flee
To arms of comfort, harmony

*
Beauty ponders one last fight
With unknown creatures of the night
Quelling terror from deep within
Just to find it cannot win

*
Beauty dies a graceful death
Slowly taking one last breath
As it slowly shuts its eyes
It ponders life before it dies

*
Beauty is a living thing
That grows unnoticed before the ring
It taps into a world of pain
Wondering when to rise again
