I returned at last to the shore
Vowing again nevermore That I’d leave this place For I’d run my race. I was back in the spot I adore. The sea with its burgeoning swells Gives me respite from life’s daily hells. Its ebb and its flow Gives me solace, I know. I love all its sights and its smells. The sand as it kisses the sea, Is ever so special to me. The waves rush to chase My soul to embrace. There’s no place that I’d rather be. No matter what’s come or what’s lost, Its balm relieves some of the cost. For in it I find Such peace of mind; Reprieve from the storms I have crossed. When my last breath has been drawn, And I stand before God on His throne I pray that the sea For eternity Will flow near my Heavenly home.
