Masiyoshi switched the ship to autopilot and looked toward Ramuzei. He was still unconscious, but with the help of his medical robot, he was going to live. "How is his condition?" Masiyoshi asked.
"He will live, but he has a massive blaster wound on his stomach. It has not caused any internal damage that I am aware of," the robot stated. "Why is he still unconscious?" Masiyoshi asked. "He was given a mild case of anesthesia. His companions state he has Automatonophobia, so he needed anesthesia to get treated." "Understood. When will he be awake?" Masiyoshi asked. "He'll be awake in a few minutes," the robot stated. The navigation computer of the ship began flashing a red color. Masiyoshi ran up to it. On the screen, it had said, ENTERING ATMOSPHERE. "I didn't see a planet!" Masiyoshi shouted. Soon an ocean was visible. Masiyoshi couldn't find any land, so he had to land the ship in the water. The navigation computer read, UNFAMILIAR ATMOSPHERE. "This planet isn't known to Earth. Where are we?" Masiyoshi mumbled. Edo, Kohan, and A-ban ran into the cockpit. "Are we on Earth?" they asked. "We've landed on an unidentified planet. It seems that the whole planet was cloaked, but for what purpose?" "Do you see any land?" Kohan asked, changing the subject. "None. I looked around in the upper atmosphere, and found nothing. It seems that we have landed on a water-filled planet with no land," Masiyoshi said. "Can you start the ship, and fly out of here?" Edo asked. Masiyoshi tryed to start the ship, but the conditions computer read ALL SYSTEMS UNRESPONSIVE. "Great. How will we get out of here!" A-ban shouted. Lolcos had placed a tracking device on Masiyoshi's ship, but the signal was lost between Pluto and Neptune. Lolcos swore. "How could they have disappeared? There is nothing in that area!" Virolvv was seated on his throne behind Lolcos. "Let me see the star map, and where they disappeared." Lolcos projected the star map, and pointed to where Masiyoshi disappeared. "There is indeed something in that area. They have landed on Polaqua." "Polaqua?" Lolcos asked. "It was discovered approximately 300 years ago by the Plutonians. After settling on the ocean floor, things went terribly wrong. Giant creatures known as D'engs destroyed their cities. The leader of Pluto at the time decided to cloak it to keep curious minds away." "Then they are doomed," Lolcos said, laughing. "The D'engs only hide on the ocean floor. They're safe if they stay away from there. I guess now is the perfect time to release my second clone." Masiyoshi climbed up to the top hatch wearing a subaquata suit. "I'll be back. I need to explore this planet. Maybe people live here." "I don't think you need to wait. Look!" Kohan pointed to a lowering ship. A man in a cloak jumped out as the ship flew off. "Virolvv." Edo looked at the man swimming near them. "That's not Virolvv! This guy has blue skin." "That must be Virolvv's second clone," Masiyoshi said. "What should we do?" A-ban asked. "Stay here," Masiyoshi said, grabbing his sword. "I'll fight Virolvv's clone." He opened the hatch, and stood on top of the floating ship with his sword out. Virolvv's clone stopped. "Masiyoshi. I've been awaiting this battle," the clone said. "But let me introduce myself. I am Virolvv's second clone, Subject T, or Towo." "Eon possessed the power of fire. What can you do?" Masiyoshi shouted. Towo lifted his arms above his head, and some of the water began flowing up into a big wave. He then pointed his arms toward Masiyoshi. The wave slammed into Masiyoshi. Masiyoshi flew back several feet into the water. As soon as he got enough power, he started to swim toward Towo. "Give up. You are in my element!" Towo shouted, as he slammed another wave into Masiyoshi. Masiyoshi was thrown back again. How am I going to stop him in the ocean? Masiyoshi thought. I'm going to need to use the element of surprise.. He went about 5 feet underwater, and started to swim toward Towo. Towo also submerged himself, and saw Masiyoshi. Towo was too late to defend. He had been smashed in the face. This had stopped Towo momentarily, giving Masiyoshi enough time to plunge his sword into Towo. Towo stood still for a while, but then disappeared, growing back above Masiyoshi. What is he? Towo smashed hard on Masiyoshi's head, slamming him toward the ocean floor, unconscious. As soon as Towo reached the surface, he took out his comm device. "Masiyoshi Kozumi is no longer a threat. He is floating to the ocean floor." "Pursue him. There isn't an 100 percent chance he'll get devoured by the D'engs." "Understood." Masiyoshi woke up in a small glass hut. "What the...?" Two blue skinned humanoids appeared. "Are you okay?" one of them asked. "Where am I?" "You are in an underwater colony on Polaqua," the other said. "What is Polaqua?" "The planet itself is Polaqua," one of them said. "What are you guys?" "We are aboriginal Plutonians living on Polaqua. I am Cana's and my friend is Yukono," Cana's replied. "How did I get here?" Masiyoshi asked. "You fought a man. The city's spies saw the fight," Yukono stated. "Towo." The two shuddered. "Towo is here?" Cana's asked. "You know him?" They nodded. "He was created here," Yukono replied. "What did he do?" "He sunk all the land on Polaqua," Cana's said. "Is that why there is no land?" Both of the Plutonians nodded. "We should get out of here," Yukono suggested. "You have a way to get off Polaqua?" Masiyoshi asked. Cana's was about to answer, when the sound of an siren was heard through the city. "What's going on?" Masiyoshi shouted. "A D'eng is within a mile of the city," Yukono replied. "What's a D'eng?" "They are giant fish-eels," Cana's said. "What do you do in situations like this?" "Follow. We don't have time to talk," Yukono said. Cana's and Masiyoshi followed Yukono into a dimly lit room. Inside, all that was visible was a bookcase and a bed. "How is this safe from a giant fish-eel?" Masiyoshi asked. Yukono removed two of the books on the case, and the bookcase slid over, revealing a hole in the floor under it. Inside the hole, it was waterfilled. "You can't put me down there! I'll drown!" Yukono reached under the bed, and pulled out three aquasuits. "Hurry, we don't have much time." They placed on the suits, and jumped into the small hole. In the small underground chamber, several Plutonians were present. "Is this what you do when a D'eng comes by?" Masiyoshi asked. "We usually hunt them, but this one is in a pack of three. We won't stand a chance," Cana's said. They waited. After a few minutes, 3 dark shapes flowed over the glass above them. One of them stopped, looking directly at the glass. It showed its teeth, and broke into the glass. Yukono and Cana's rushed to a small tunnel, and Masiyoshi followed. "These things are smart. How did they know we were in here?" "They are slightly sentient, but they aren't smart. The D'engs never break the glass dome. They must be controlled!" Towo had managed to find a D'eng while searching underwater. He managed to place a small device which allowed him to take control over the creature's brain. He sat in a nearby glass dome, operating the D'eng. There was a monitor on the controls, allowing Towo to see the creature's every sight. He spoke into the microphone. "Go forward. Destroy Masiyoshi!" The D'eng lunged forward, into the rock wall, breaking large boulders off. In only minutes, Masiyoshi, you'll be dead, Towo thought. A Plutonians arrived to meet Cana's. "The other two have left. We are ready to attack." "Go ahead, Vitaq. I'm about ready to get out of this chamber." A small underwater tank arrived, shooting electricity at the D'eng. It growled, and lashed toward it, but was distracted in pain. Soon the D'eng would be dead. Towo looked at the screen. It was becoming fuzzy. "That tank is ruining my control!" Soon the control shorted, and broke. Towo crushed it in his hand. "Now war will be waged upon Pluto for helping the sad Earthling; which reminds me of a few more sad Earthlings to put out of their misery." Ramuzei woke up. "Where are we?" he asked, looking out the cockpit window. A-ban looked at the ocean. "Masiyoshi had said we landed on an uncharted planet. There is no land on this one at all." "Where did Masiyoshi go?" "He went out to fight one of Virolvv's clones about an hour ago. I'm concerned," Kohan said. "Was it Eon?" Ramuzei asked. "Another clone. I don't know his name," Edo stated. "His name was Towo," a voice from behind them said. Startled, they turned around, but were relieved to figure out it was Masiyoshi talking. "I got a few parts from Plutonians to start the ship to get out of water," Masiyoshi explained. "So we can leave this planet now?" Ramuzei asked. "We still need the parts to be assembled. Cana's and Yukono are putting the parts on as we speak." Suddenly, a giant wave built up in front of the ship, and was frozen. Towo stood on it. "Come Masiyoshi. I'm willing to fight out of the water this time. Do you oblige?" Towo asked. Masiyoshi opened the top hatch, and stood on the ship. "I can't get up there! No stairs!" "That's not a problem, Masiyoshi. Get into the water," Towo shouted down. Masiyoshi reluctantly obeyed. A large ice lift brought him up to where Towo was. "Why are you fighting me out of your element?" Masiyoshi asked. "Fighting you in the water is boring. I figure crushing you in your element will be a little more satisfying," Towo replied, creating an ice sword. "The only one who's getting crushed on this planet is you!" Masiyoshi shouted, lunging toward Towo. Towo dodged, and shot several icycles at Masiyoshi. Masiyoshi tryed to dodge, but got impaled in several places. Warm, red blood seeped out of the wounds. Masiyoshi pulled one out of his arm, painfully. While trying to get the icycles out of his skin, Towo charged up to Masiyoshi, and punched him hard to the ice. Masiyoshi looked up at Towo, his ice sword positioned over his neck. "I thought this would have been more of a challenge, Masiyoshi. Apparently I overestimated you abilities," Towo said. Masiyoshi tried to raise his sword, but the imense pain in his arm didn't allow him. He closed his eyes, and waited for Towo to end him, but this never came. He listened, and heard the clash of metal on metal. He opened his eyes, and saw ten different Plutonians, each with a harpoon, attacking Towo. Masiyoshi got up slowly, raising his sword. Soon all of the Plutonians were defeated. Towo looked toward Masiyoshi. "You will not be able to defeat me. A group of 10 couldn't stop me," Towo said. Masiyoshi held his sword out in front of him as Towo charged. Masiyoshi jumped out of the way, and kicked Towo to the ice. Now Masiyoshi's sword was positioned above Towo's neck. "You can't escape now. Out of water, you can't become water," Masiyoshi said. Towo smiled. "You need to be more observant over my power, human." "I've seen all your tricks. You can't possibly get away!" All at once, the ice platform started to break, and fall into the vast ocean. Masiyoshi tried to kill Towo, but the chunk of ice that both of them were on had falled. Masiyoshi stabbed his sword into the ice, and crouched, holding onto it. Towo had gotten back up, his sword raised. "You won't get off this planet! I will bring your head to Virolvv!" Masiyoshi ducked as the first slash came. He pulled his sword from the ice, and began to fight Towo. Soon, Masiyoshi reached the edge of the ice chunk. He pushed Towo off, where he fell for another two stories before hitting the water. All of the ice chunks toppled on top of Towo when they hit the water. Masiyoshi was about to look to see if Towo was alive, but decided that nobody could have survived the several tons of ice that fell on him. He swam back to the ship. Cana's and Yukono looked at Masiyoshi. "You look like you were beaten," Yukono said. "I kind of was at some points. I would be dead if it weren't for the Plutonians that you guys sent," Masiyoshi explained. "Where is Towo?" Cana's asked. "Dead. He got crushed by the falling ice," Masiyoshi stated. "The ship is ready. I guess it's time to say goodbye," Yukono said. "Yeah. I'll make sure that the Kazinites don't decide to retaliate by creating a fort out here." "Thank you," Cana's and Yukono said in unison. Back in the ship, Masiyoshi walked to the cockpit. "Next stop, Earth!" Virolvv's ship lowered above the ocean of Polaqua. Towo slowly crawled into the ship from an opened door. "Status?" Virolvv asked. "They escaped, but I killed all but two of the people that helped assist Masiyoshi," Towo said. "You wiped out the whole city?" Virolvv asked. Towo nodded. "What is your next plan of action for me?" "To weaken the Japanese leader into submission, we'll have to destroy something precious to him. Something important in his life," Virolvv said, laughing. _________________________________________________________________ What is so important to Masiyoshi that would help the Kazinites get what they need? What is to happen to Yukono and Cana's? All will be revealed in The Kozumis.
