two men
ten lines of the life of two men in love

spellbound by those summers of forbidden dreams
discovery linked an hourglass to our timid hands
and cradled our hearts with the promise of passion
the sand was pristine, like the innocence
we abandoned in the Mediterranean ebb and flow
slowly, we watched the seasons turn to years…
afraid of falling, I perched on your ivory pedestal
so high I mistook the horizon and your distant shadows
we were two men impatient for love’s treasure, yet
I never danced alone in your arms’ embrace

two men
