Contemplations

She sits as memories invade
her mind and so it seems
she cannot stop this wild cascade
that haunts her in her dreams.
A soft embrace, a tender kiss,
that lead her to remembered bliss.
A soft embrace.
A soft embrace
that once was easy to dismiss.

She sits as memories invade
and shade her waking hours.
Her hands roam in a cruel charade
as her flesh devours
each touch of hands upon her skin
that warmly trace without ... within.
Each touch of hands.
Each touch of hands
bring pleasured thoughts of what had been.

She sits as memories invade -
yet still she feels the void.
She knows the choices she has made,
her happiness destroyed.
Still, her heart soars, a moment free,
to those times of shared ecstasy.
Still, her heart soars.
Still her heat soars
on hope's strong wings of what might be.

Thank you for taking time to read my words. I would appreciate it if you took a moment and left a comment. Your reaction, impressions, criticisms, - yes, even praise *Smile* are all equally welcome.
